Tea Infused Whipped Cream

Tea Infused Whipped Cream

A special accompaniment for your holiday treats. This infused whipped cream adds another layer of flavor to your favorite pie or dessert.

I received lovely gift from Dollar Tea Club of an assortment of tea flavors. Their teas come in so many fun flavors that lend themselves to being lovely for baking or desserts. The flavors I selected were Chocolate Strawberry, Lime Gelato and Almond Rocker. The Chocolate Strawberry tea sounded like wonderful pairing with the brownie pie I had made. You can use any tea, or dried herb for that matter, to make an infused cream. I think I will continue to experiment with this technique in the future. I can’t wait to try the other flavors!

Tea Infused Whipped Cream

1 pint of heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons of Chocolate Strawberry Tea (or whatever flavor you wish)
2 Tbsp Powdered Sugar (more if you like it sweeter)

Combine cream and tea in a small sauce pan over medium/low heat. Gently heat the mixture while stirring occasionally, until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil. Remove it from the heat immediately and place it in the fridge to chill completely. When the mixture is cold remove it from the fridge and put in through a fine mesh to remove all of the loose tea. Poor it into a metal bowl and add the powdered sugar. Whip it with a whisk or your electric mixer until it forms soft peaks. I did it with a whisk and it came together very quickly.

Enjoy on top of our favorite pie, dessert or ice cream. I think it would be lovely on top of a cup of tea as well.

I hope you enjoy this fun way to add extra flavor to your whipped cream. It might be a fun addition to your dessert table this Thanksgiving. As always don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. I’d love to hear from you.

Bake on!
